Fun and laughter in education since 1988

I believe that the purpose of theatre in education is  to produce high quality children's theatre that captivates children and stimulates their curiosity, leaving them with a thirst for knowledge and desperate to learn more.

'A really entertaining performance - the children were learning without even knowing it'   Science teacher

The aftermath of a Paradox Theatre show is a school buzzing with excited children who won't stop asking questions, keen to learn more about what they have just experienced.

'I learned to ask lots of questions for science and it made me think because it made science sound good and funny' -  Luke Age 10

”I thought the Curse of the Grabbers was educationally relevant and simply but expertly performed. More importantly the young audience were totally engaged and clearly enjoyed this thought provoking piece of work. I recommend it highly”

J C Struthers - Director of the Institute of Contemporary and Interdisciplinary Arts, Bath University

My approach to theatre in education is that the show must be a wonderful show in it's own right, the sort of show that captivates children, a show that fills them with excitement and wonder, a performance that has them on the edge of their seats and wanting more. I want the children to think it's the funniest show they have ever seen, and I don't want them to realise that they are learning and that what they are experiencing is educational. And I want to make the teachers laugh too! The point of an educational show is that it gets children interested so that they want to know more and are motivated to learn and ask questions, and hopefully make teaching more fun for teachers
